Sedamdesetih godina Društvo nabavlja kombi vozilo FIAT 615 i autocisternu TAM 4500. Godine 1980. završena je izgradnja Društvenog doma. Brza ekspanzija rada za uslugama vezanima uz naftnu industriju Društvu omogućuje daljnju nabavu moderne vatrogasne opreme (prijenosni vatrogasni aparat Rosenbauer i Honda, autocisterna TAM130 T-11, vatrogasni kombi IMV GASILEC, usisna, tlačna i armaturna oprema, 20 svečanih odijela, radni kombinezoni, vatrogasni S aparati, krovna električna sirena, 2 mobilne radio stanice itd).
The Volunteer Fire Department (DVD) Šumećani was founded on May 14, 1931. At its establishment, the department consisted of 25 active members, 2 supporting members, 18 founders, and 1 honorary member. The first appointed officials were President Ivan Jurinac, Commander Stevo Tremac, Assistant Commander Josip Tremac, Secretary Stjepan Fulir, and Treasurer Stjepan Vučinić. From its inception, the department was part of the Čazma Firefighting District. Due to a lack of its own facilities, it operated alongside the DVD in Dapci until 1933, when its own fire station was built. The development of DVD Šumećani was significantly influenced by the growth of the oil industry, which served as a catalyst for acquiring new equipment (portable pumps such as 'Savica' and 'Sora'). In the 1970s, the department acquired a FIAT 615 van and a TAM 4500 water tanker. The construction of the Community Hall was completed in 1980. The rapid expansion of services related to the oil industry allowed for further acquisition of modern firefighting equipment, including Rosenbauer and Honda portable pumps, a TAM 130 T-11 water tanker, and an IMV GASILEC fire van. Additionally, the department procured suction and pressure hoses, armature equipment, 20 ceremonial uniforms, work coveralls, fire extinguishers, a roof-mounted electric siren, and two mobile radio stations
