DVD BREŠKA GREDA

DVD Breška Greda osnovano je 6. listopada 1935. godine u dvorištu ispod oraha Josipa Grgeta kbr. 47. Unutar Društva aktivno djeluje muška A ekipa te ekipa vatrogasnog podmlatka. Ovaj DVD također organizira kup natjecanje posvećeno seoskoj zaštitnici sv. Ani od 2015. godine.

The Breška Greda Volunteer Fire Brigade was founded on October 6, 1935, in the yard beneath a walnut tree belonging to Josip Grget (house no. 47). The first regular Annual General Assembly was held on February 16, 1936. On that occasion, Josip Rošin was elected president, and Tomo Rošin Grget was elected secretary. Soon afterwards, the Society began its active work. A fire station was built in the floodplain by the Mrtvečina stream, financed through the Society’s own funds and voluntary labor. To support this effort, trees from commonly owned municipal land were also cut down and sold. In 1938, the first motorized fire pump, named “Spasiteljica” (“The Rescuer”), was acquired. The Society received its first flag in 1965, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its work. It continued to actively procure the necessary tools and equipment for operational duties; in this context, a “Sora” motor pump was purchased in 1966, followed by a “Rosenbauer” pump in 1969. During the 1970s, the Breška Greda Volunteer Fire Brigade was one of the most active societies within the then Firefighting Association of the Municipality of Ivanić-Grad. The highlight of this period came in 1977, when the Society established a twinning relationship with the Kloštar Ivanić Volunteer Fire Brigade. After a brief period of stagnation around the turn of the century, the Society experienced a revival, with its competition teams achieving excellent results. One of its greatest successes was the qualification of the women’s A team for the national competition. Today, the Breška Greda Volunteer Fire Brigade is the main driver of social activities in its community. Within the Society, an active men’s A team and a youth firefighting team operate. Since 2015, the Society has also organized a cup competition dedicated to the village’s patron saint, St. Anne.
