Kolekcionar vatrogasnog znakovlja

DVD Vukovar utemeljeno 1875. godine, svrstava se među prva vatrogasna društva na našim prostorima. Osnovano je na humanim zasadama ljubavi prema bližnjemu i hrvatskoj domovini. Društvo je uživalo veliki ugled jer je okupljalo vukovarske građane potičući zajedništvo i požrtvovnost, ukidajući sve društvene razlike. Društvo je kroz svojih 147 godina djelovanja prošlo kroz različita društvena uređenja i ratove, ali je opstalo do danas zahvaljujući svojem brojnom i požrtvovnom članstvu, uvijek pod geslom ''svi za jednog, jedan za sve''. Vukovarsko vatrogastvo prošlo je kroz uspone i padove, ali najveće iskušenje bio je Domovinski rat 1991. godine. Vatrogasci su dali veliki doprinos pomažući stanovništvu u opkoljenom gradu i sudjelujući u obrani Vukovara. Devet vatrogasaca je poginulo, brojni su ranjeni, zatočeni u logorima i protjerani. Vatrogasni dom je potpuno razoren, a oprema devastirana. DVD Vukovar trenutno broji 97 članova. DVD Vukovar posjeduje 3 vozila: zapovjedno, vozilo za prijevoz vatrogasaca i opreme i navalno vozilo.

DVD Vukovar, founded in 1875, is ranked among the first fire brigades in our region. It was established on humane principles of love for one’s fellow human beings and for the Croatian homeland. The association enjoyed great respect as it brought together the citizens of Vukovar, encouraging unity and self-sacrifice while eliminating social differences. Throughout its 147 years of activity, the association has lived through various social systems and wars, yet it has survived to this day thanks to its numerous and dedicated members, always guided by the motto “all for one, one for all.” Firefighting in Vukovar has experienced both rises and falls, but its greatest trial was the Homeland War in 1991. Firefighters made a significant contribution by helping the civilian population in the besieged city and by participating in the defense of Vukovar. Nine firefighters were killed, many were wounded, imprisoned in camps, and displaced. The fire station was completely destroyed, and the equipment was devastated. Today, DVD Vukovar has 97 members. DVD Vukovar operates three vehicles: a command vehicle, a vehicle for transporting firefighters and equipment, and a fire engine.
