Kolekcionar vatrogasnog znakovlja

Prema podacima DVD-a Varaždin, davne 1875. godine se u Nedelišću dogodio katastrofalan požar u kojem je u potpunosti izgorjela ulica zvana Pijac - sadašnja ulica Trg Republike i dio sadašnje ulice Maršala Tita. Nije poznato da li je prije tog katastrofalnog požara Nedelišće posjedovalo sprave za gašenje, no u razdoblju od 1875. godine do 1880. godine Općina Nedelišće nabavlja ručnu vatrogasnu štrcaljku najstarijeg tipa koja je imala samo rezervoar vode, kotao i mlaznicu pričvršćenu za kotao. Kasnije, do 1908. godine, u Nedelišću je zabilježeno samo nekoliko manjih požara. Istovremeno se u Međimurju javljaju prva organizirana društva za borbu protiv požarne stihije, najprije u Čakovcu i Prelogu, a do 1908. godine osnovano je ukupno osam vatrogasnih društva. Kako je Nedelišće od davnina bilo jedno od većih mjesta u ovom kraju, bilo je samo pitanje vremena kada će i ono dobiti svoje vatrogasno društvo. Tako je, upravo 17.05.1908. godine, održana osnivačka Skupština Dobrovoljnog vatrogasnog društva Nedelišće. Na osnivačkoj je Skupštini za prvog zapovjednika Društva izabran Juraj Žnidarić, inicijator osnivanja, dok je prvim predsjednikom postao Marinović Franjo. Smatralo se da će on, kao mađarski bilježnik, biti od velike koristi Društvu u njegovu radu i nabavi opreme. Prva pravila Društva odobrena su 06.03.1909. godine od strane Ministarstva unutrašnjih poslova u Pešti. Dugo se vremena ovaj datum uzimao za kao datum osnutka DVD-a Nedelišće, no kasnije se došlo do originalnih dokumenta sa osnivačke Skupštine tako da se kao datum osnivanja Društva uzima upravo 17.05.1908. godine.

Prva oprema u Društvu bile su samo kape nabavljene od vlastitih sredstava članova. Prve uniforme nabavljene su 1909. godine povodom čega je i snimljena prva fotografija članova našeg DVD-a. U početku je postojala samo jedna, već ranije nabavljena, ručna štrcaljka bez usisnih cijevi. Oko 1910. godine nabavljena je ručna štrcaljka promjera cijevi 25 mm na dva kotača, dok je nešto kasnije nabavljena ručna štrcaljka sa usisnim i tlačnim cijevima promjera 52 mm na četiri kotača. Bila je to najbolja moguća oprema u tadašnje vrijeme. Kako tada nije postajalo nikakvo spremište, sva se vatrogasna oprema nalazila u općinskim šupama. Do početka I. svjetskog rata, Društvo je svake godine nabavljalo nešto opreme. Kako nije bilo previše novaca, svaki je član iz vlastitih sredstava kupio uniformu i cipele. Rad se Društva u to vrijeme svodio samo na praktične vježbe koje su se odvijale od travnja do listopada, dok se u zimskim mjesecima nije djelovalo. Kako je 1914. godine započeo I. svjetski rat, rad Društva sveden je na minimum. Završetkom istoga, 1919. godine Društvo se ponovo aktivira i intenzivno radi na uključivanju mladih članova.

At the same time, the first organized firefighting societies appeared in Međimurje, first in Čakovec and Prelog, and by 1908 a total of eight firefighting societies were founded. As Nedelišće has long been one of the larger towns in this region, it was only a matter of time before it too would get its own fire department. That's right, exactly on May 17, 1908. year, the founding Assembly of the Nedelišće Voluntary Firefighting Society was held. At the founding Assembly, Juraj Žnidarić, the initiator of the foundation, was elected as the first commander of the Society, while Franjo Marinović became the first president. It was considered that he, as a Hungarian notary, would be of great use to the Society in its work and the acquisition of equipment. The first rules of the Company were approved on March 6, 1909. by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Pest. For a long time, this date was taken as the founding date of DVD Nedelišće, but later the original documents from the founding Assembly were found, so that the date of establishment of the Company is taken to be 17.05.1908. years.

The first equipment in the Society was only caps purchased from the members' own funds. The first uniforms were purchased in 1909, on the occasion of which the first photo of the members of our DVD was taken. In the beginning, there was only one, already acquired, manual syringe without suction tubes. Around 1910, a manual syringe with a tube diameter of 25 mm on two wheels was acquired, while a manual syringe with suction and pressure tubes of 52 mm diameter on four wheels was acquired a little later. It was the best possible equipment at the time. As there was no storage at that time, all firefighting equipment was located in municipal sheds. Until the beginning of World War I, the Society acquired some equipment every year. Since there was not too much money, each member bought a uniform and shoes from his own funds. At that time, the work of the Society was limited only to practical exercises that took place from April to October, while there was no activity in the winter months. As World War I began in 1914, the Society's work was reduced to a minimum. At the end of the same, in 1919, the Society became active again and worked intensively on the inclusion of young members.
