Kolekcionar vatrogasnog znakovlja

Puhački orkestar Dobrovoljnog vatrogasnog društva Đurđevac osnovan je 1922. godine kad pod vodstvom kapelnika Maksa Sandbichlera započinje s radom Prva glazbena sekcija. Tijekom postojanja orkestar radi bez većih prekida, a svoje aktivnosti temelji na poticanju i promicanju kulturno–umjetničkog amaterizma s područja puhačke glazbe u gradu Đurđevcu i šire. U sastavu se nižu brojne generacije mještana pod vodstvom desetak kapelnika i dirigenata. Orkestar se pomlađuje i proširuje polaznicima glazbene poduke, a od nedavno i s učenicima iz Glazbene škole Đurđevac. Kroz svoje djelovanje pruža mogućnost svim zainteresiranima, posebno djeci i mladima, kvalitetno bavljenje glazbom, te kreativan, društveno pozitivan i koristan angažman. Svojim muziciranjem glazbenici redovito uveličavaju važnije manifestacije u Đurđevcu i šire. Tradicionalno pripremaju godišnji i blagdanski koncert, surađuju s brojnim orkestrima i kulturnim udrugama, s kojima razmjenjuju gostovanja, a osim protokolarnih zadaća u sklopu vatrogastva, sudjeluju na smotrama i susretima puhača na županijskoj i državnoj razini. U novije vrijeme orkestar stvara prepoznatljiv repertoarski stil s kojim privlači brojnu publiku svih dobnih skupina, puni dvorane do zadnjeg mjesta i plijeni simpatije koncertnim izvedbama. Za osobiti doprinos u području glazbenog i društvenog djelovanja, orkestar je primio javna priznanja Hrvatskog sabora kulture, Koprivničko-križevačke županije i Grada Đurđevca. Svoj najveći uspjeh od osnutka, đurđevački ‘bandisti’ postižu 2017. godine na državnom natjecanju u Novom Vinodolskom, osvojivši Zlatnu plaketu u C-kategoriji orkestara. Dirigent i voditelj orkestra je Božidar Škurdija.

The brass band of the Đurđevac Voluntary Fire Brigade was founded in 1922, when the First Music Section began its work under the leadership of Kapellmeister Maks Sandbichler. During its existence, the orchestra works without major interruptions, and its activities are based on encouraging and promoting cultural and artistic amateurism in the field of wind music in the city of Đurđevac and beyond. The composition consists of numerous generations of locals under the leadership of a dozen bandleaders and conductors. The orchestra is rejuvenating and expanding with students of music lessons, and recently also with students from the Đurđevac Music School. Through its activities, it provides the opportunity for all interested parties, especially children and young people, to engage in high-quality music, as well as creative, socially positive and useful engagement. With their music, musicians regularly enhance important events in Đurđevac and beyond. Traditionally, they prepare an annual and holiday concert, cooperate with numerous orchestras and cultural associations, with whom they exchange guest appearances, and in addition to protocol tasks as part of the fire department, they participate in parades and brass band meetings at the county and state level. In recent times, the orchestra has been creating a distinctive repertoire style with which it attracts a large audience of all age groups, fills the halls to the last seat and wins hearts with its concert performances. For its special contribution in the field of musical and social activities, the orchestra received public recognitions from the Croatian Parliament of Culture, Koprivnica-Križevačka County and the City of Đurđevac. In 2017, the "bandists" from Đurđević achieved their greatest success since their foundation at the state competition in Novi Vinodolski, winning the Golden Plaque in the C-category of the orchestra. The conductor and leader of the orchestra is Božidar Škurdija.
